Built to tackle big jobs, these heavy duty receiver hitches offer weld-on flexibility for custom frames and service bodies. Choices with a 2-inch receiver and capacities up to 16,000 lbs make it easier to outfit motorhomes, work vans, or trucks when no custom-fit hitch exists. Measure your frame rail spacing and plan for cutting, drilling, or welding as needed.

Measure the drop to the top of the hitch opening. Compare this to the top or bottom of your frame rail to confirm clearance under the bumper or body. For front or unique installs, mock up the hitch and confirm room before welding to avoid interference.

Pick based on capacity and what you're towing. A 2" class 5 universal option is rated up to 16,000 lbs trailer and 1,600 lbs tongue weight. A 2-1/2" option is rated up to 20,000 lbs and 2,000 lbs tongue weight. You're still limited by your vehicle or chassis. If a welder determines a lower safe rating for your setup, use the lower number.

Plan on weld-on installation, with possible bolting too. Expect to cut brackets to size, drill bolt holes, and touch up paint. Check for obstacles like air lines, wrap-around beds, or step bumpers, and reinforce if you have an aluminum frame. Verify if mounting hardware is included—some do not include 5/8" bolts and nuts.

Yes, if your frame falls within the adjustable range. Some universal weld-on hitches have adjustable flanges that can fit frames between 18" and 44". Measure the width between your frame rails first. For non-standard widths, brackets can be cut down or custom plates fabricated. Some brackets are not a universal fit, so plan for drilling bolt holes or welding as needed.
